On behalf of Defra, we are looking for a P2P Finance Assistant (Inside IR35) for a remote contract that runs until March 2028.

As a P2P Finance Assistant, your main responsibilities will be:
- Supporting end‑to‑end delivery of a new Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) system, helping to move from legacy processes to a modern ERP solution
- Supporting the build phase, assisting with system configuration, data preparation and the move from design to a working solution
- Taking part in system integration testing, validating end‑to‑end P2P processes, data flows and integrations
- Supporting user acceptance testing, working with real users to identify issues and help deliver effective training
- Assisting with the cutover to the new ERP, supporting data migration cycles, readiness checks and transition activity to ensure a safe and controlled go‑live
- Reviewing project documentation and providing clear, constructive feedback to support high‑quality delivery
Essential:
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Well versed with P2P processes
- Confident relationship‑builder, able to use networks to support delivery and resolve issues
- Sound knowledge of government finance, including controls, processes and reporting
- Demonstrable experience in end-to-end finance processes
Desirable:
- Experience in working within implementation workstreams
- Hand on experience with Oracle and related finance systems
