On behalf of Defra, we are looking for a P2P Lead SME Inside IR35 for a 6 month contract based Hybrid working (remote with occasional travel for key meetings)

About The Role:
We are looking for a Purchase to Pay (P2P) Lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the delivery and implementation of a P2P Centre of Expertise.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Purchase to Pay (P2P) Lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) would be:
- Leading the design of the P2P Centre of Expertise and align with the Finance Service offer and Synergy Common Operating Model.
- Working with key stakeholders from across Finance, ALB’s and SSCL. Outputs will include process gap analysis across bodies and business change impacts.
- Working closely with other Finance change programmes to align programme objectives and deliver and support the development of new process and guidance as required.
- Work with key stakeholders and P2P SME’s to assess the impact of all relevant change proposals implementing business change across the ALB’s where required.
- Form collaborative relationships with partners to identify opportunities for improvements and provide a seamless and joined up P2P knowledge base for users.
- Flexibly support the P2P process owner on activities relating to the Synergy programme and continuous improvement activities across the wider Financial Compliance team.
Essential:
- Experience of leading a P2P Service.
- Process reengineering and process management in a finance context (ideally P2P) Driving change and delivery
- Understand what good looks like in paying for goods and services
- Risk awareness/management Ability to work flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to build, develop and maintain strong effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external. collaborative relationships with a range of customers and teams.
- Good organisational skills and a proven ability to plan and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally) with staff and stakeholders at all levels
- Proven ability to influence and persuade colleagues confidently and professionally
- Demonstrated ability to challenge “us and them” thinking and to invest time to generate a common focus and genuine team spirit
- Experience of identifying problems and developing and implementing workable solutions
- Ability to work confidently with information sharing and data, using a systematic approach to recording and storing on a shared system
- Experience of working with Finance systems i.e. Oracle, Hyperion, SAP.
