Description & Requirements

On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Data Analytics Manager Inside IR35 for a 6 months contract based remotely.


SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active SV clearance.

As a Data Analytics Manager, your main responsibilities will be:


Essential:

  • Lead analysis of datasets to identify trends and actionable commercial insights.
  • Develop commercial dashboards and reports for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with governance standards.
  • Mentor commercial colleagues in the development and use of reporting and to promote best practices.
  • Supporting the Commercial Director in organizing the application of the 8 areas of the Gov Continuous Commercial Improvement Assessment Framework to the OPA.
  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field would be desirable but not essential.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in data analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and data visualization tools.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • SC - security clearance is required
  • We require a blend of technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills to be successful in a public sector organization.
  • In addition to strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, it is critical to demonstrate a deep understanding of public sector operations, including regulatory frameworks and data governance requirements. The ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable recommendations is essential for driving informed decision-making whilst operating within a public sector environment.
  • Strong communication skills are vital for engaging with diverse stakeholders, such as commercial and finance colleagues along with cross-functional teams.
  • Project management capabilities enable the manager to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Furthermore, a commitment to ethical data use and maintaining the highest standards of data integrity is fundamental, given the sensitive nature of public sector data.
  • Finally, fostering a culture of learning and mentoring team members to coach the wider team in developing analytical capacity within the organization and adopting best practices in data management.
