On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a contract which is running to the end of March 2025 possible extension based remotely but does require up to 3 days a week in the Portsmouth office

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.
As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be
- Responsible for overseeing the delivery of the project to ensure that objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints.
- The project manager will play a key role in project governance, working with stakeholders to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable the projected benefits to be realized
- Design the project structure appropriate to stage, selecting and applying relevant delivery methodologies.
- Ensure benefits are identified, understood, measured, tracked and owned. Identify and monitor project risks and issues.
- Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate.
- Ensure effective change management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
- Delivery of projects, governance and risk control frameworks.
Essential Skills
- Ability to manage infrastructure project's from concept design to construction completion.
- Developing tender and assurance gateway documents.
- Lead the delivery of infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record in the delivery of Infrastructure projects
- Stakeholder engagement with both the MOD and the client at all levels
- Project delivery from start to finish, including preparation for governmental assurance gateways
- Strong self starter
Desirable Skills
- Degree in construction / engineering not essential but highly benefical APM or similar accreditation from PM certifying body
- Experience in another governmental departments/public sector, in particular following assurance processes, and using project management systems / software, would be beneficial.
- Construction site management would be highly beneficial
