Description & Requirements


On behalf of Defra, we are looking for a Commercial Property Surveyor x2 (Inside IR35) for a contract which is running up to March 2026 based remotely but does include travel up to 2 meetings a month which can be across the north of England at various locations, additional travel will be expensed

These roles are based within the Commercial Property Management team which is under the Defra group property umbrella, please note the commercial surveyors will be partnered to a permanent member of staff


As a Commercial Property Surveyor, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Deal with lease renewals working with landlords within commercial
  • Rent reviews across a busy portfolio of work
  • Statutory processes
  • Day to day property management across the commercial team
  • Dealing with Landlords/Tenants in a timely manner
  • Transactional capability


Essential Skills


  • Experience and understanding with landlord & tenant law in a commercial team
  • Commercial property management experience
  • General awareness of commercial property transactions
  • Experience of managing commercial landlords and tenants in relation to rent reviews
  • Extensive stakeholder engagement at all levels
  • Strong self starter with a proactive flexible approach to all duties


Desirable Skills


  • Chartered accreditation would be highly beneficial
