Description & Requirements

On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Data Analyst - (INSIDE IR35) for a 6-month contract working on a hybrid basis and with an expectation of 3 days per week in either the Milton Keynes or Manchester office

Job Purpose

Performing analysis of people related data and information with a customer focussed proactive approach. Support the business in identifying people related data trends highlighting patterns of concern to key safety holders and providing periodical reporting data. Identify opportunities for automating analysis, providing repeatable insight for the Human Resources team and stakeholders


As a Data Analyst - (INSIDE IR35), your main responsibilities will be:

  • Provide an analysis and decision support service to the Human Resources team to support key people related decision making, financial efficiency and identification of business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement analytical processes, procedures, and tools.
  • Work with the Human Resources team to identify future requirements for analytical outputs and assess the impact on current resources, processes, and systems.
  • Create quantitative analysis of data processing times associated with stakeholder requirements and formulate proposals to enable optimum data management and reporting activity.
  • Develop dashboards and data analysis as required by stakeholders, internal and external customers to aid the identification of trends, concerns, and opportunities.
  • Provide stakeholders with expert advice, guidance, and support to aid full exploitation of the capabilities of dynamic reports


Essential: 

  • Data Analysis experience
  • Experience of data management quality processes
  • Experience of systems and software engineering processes and procedures
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Expert user level in database and spreadsheet construction, analysis, and maintenance capability
  • Proven ability to work systematically and meet deadlines


Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Power BI creation tools
