Description & Requirements

On behalf of The Home Office we are looking for a Technical Digital Content Lead for a contract up to March 2026 based remotely (with office attendance if/when required from a local hub)

About the role:

Transform complex automation concepts into clear, compelling content that drives understanding and adoption across the Home Office. As our technical capability grows, you'll create user-focused content that makes our automation solutions accessible and engaging for diverse audiences.

You'll work across our automation projects, ensuring technical documentation, user guides, and success stories effectively communicate our innovation journey and £50m+ benefits realisation.

As a valued member of the team, you will be:

  • A technical translator – making complex concepts clear
  • A content architect – creating user-focused documentation
  • A storyteller – crafting compelling case studies
  • A standards champion – ensuring accessibility and quality

This role bridges our technical and communications functions, ensuring our automation story is both accurate and engaging.

 

As a Technical Digital Content Lead your main responsibilities will be to: 

  • Create clear, user-focused technical documentation
  • Write engaging case studies and success stories
  • Develop user guides and training materials
  • Design and maintain content standards
  • Ensure all content meets accessibility requirements
  • Create presentation materials for senior leaders
  • Write benefits realisation narratives
  • Maintain technical content library
  • Support thought leadership content
  • Provide editorial guidance to the team

 

Essential criteria

  • Content design qualification or equivalent experience
  • Technical writing expertise
  • Experience writing for different audiences
  • Understanding of accessibility standards
  • Digital content creation skills
  • Editorial expertise

 

Desirable criteria

  • Government content experience
  • Knowledge of automation/AI
  • Style guide development experience
  • User research experience
  • Training content development

 

 

Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
