Description & Requirements


On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Senior Dev Ops Engineer for a 12 Month (Inside IR35) contract based hybrid in Newcastle, Blackpool, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield or Birmingham (2 days per week).


The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:

  • Provide effective, efficient, and innovative services to the millions of claimants who rely on us every day, including the most vulnerable in society
  • Improve experience of our services while maximising value for money for the taxpayer.


Description

  • Senior DevOps Engineer required to lead and support the delivery of AWS environments and code deployments for the new APIs produced by the Benefits Supporting Services (BSS) team.
  • Building, improving and deploying reliable services, including production of documentation.
  • Spotting instances where team not using best practices and advising how to improve
  • Lead on large pieces of work
  • Ability to share knowledge

  • AWS and provisioning services in AWS using Terraform
  • Ansible
  • Containerisation
  • Container orchestration Kubernetes
  • GitLab CI
  • Experience of creating technical documentation
