On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a PMO Planning and Risk Manager (Inside IR35) for a 3 month contract which is a hybrid role so requires up to 3 days a week in the nearest DWP hub - Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Blackpool, Cardiff, Newcastle and Glasgow, not London.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. The HTP Programme Delivery Planning team is a small team working in a central Hub and Planning spoke approach.
As a PMO Planning and Risk Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Managing and maintaining the HTP Integrated Plan, ensuring key deliverables are tracked and accurately report through Programme artefacts.
- Managing, maintaining and reporting Programme Risks to ensure risk causes, impacts and mitigations are properly identified, actioned and reported to protect HTP delivery.
- Managing Programme dependencies, to ensure they are actively managed, monitored and reported on to maintain Programme delivery.
- Support the G6 and G7 in managing the HTP Integration Programme Plan IPP and updating key planning artifacts to deliver overall planning assurance and control of the plan
- Leading on the management and accurate reporting of high-profile Programme Risks and Dependencies, ensuring Programme risks are actively managed and monitored, and the Programme Dependency register is maintained
- Leading on the development of high profile monthly HTP Dashboards for both Programme Delivery Group and Programme Board
- Running the Weekly Download Calls (Hub and Planning spokes)– driving the agenda to include key issues/progress/risks/ dependencies/escalation points
Essential Skills
- Experience of managing the planning part of the PMO in central government
- Experience of managing the RISK management across PMO
- Experience or reporting across a PMO function for governance boards
- Stakeholder engagement at all levels
- MS planner, Microsoft office suite skillsets
- Strong self starter with a proactive approach to all duties
