On behalf of CDDO, DSIT, we are looking for a Communication Manager (Inside IR35) for a 5 months contract based Hybrid - 3 days in London Bristol or Manchester.
The Central Digital and Data Office leads the Government digital and data function for the government. We put the right conditions in place to achieve digital, data and technology transformation at scale by working with departments, and other government functions like commercial, project delivery and security professionals.
We are responsible for:
- Digital, data and technology strategy and standards, like the Technology Code of Practice, the Service Standard and Open Standards
- Cross-government Government Digital and Data performance and assurance, including Spend Controls
- Government Digital and Data capability development, including the Government Digital and Data pay framework
As a Communication Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Support the Strategic Communications Lead with promoting the Government Digital and Data brand for the cross-government function. Develop, build and evaluate communications activity to promote and raise brand awareness and message penetration.
- Leadon the design, delivery and continuous evaluation of cross-government communications, helping to produce or coordinate the creation of accessible content and narratives with impact. Ensure reporting of delivery against the strategy to senior leaders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across government to agree and align on shared messaging for Government Digital and Data, and secure brand buy-in. Actively contribute to building a communications community through a variety of communication formats to ensure Government Digital and Data professionals are aware of, and aligned to strategic priorities for digital and data.
- Work with other teams to ensure all communications activities have robust OASIS plans which align to the communications strategy and that teams are feeding into external communications opportunities.
- Manage short term planning and coordination with the DSIT press team through the communication grid. Triage incoming requests for communications support for new or emerging communications priorities.
- Support on delivery of key campaigns, including content, press, social media, events and audience analysis.
Essential:
- An experienced professional with knowledge and understanding of how to plan, deliver and evaluate communications campaigns using clear frameworks
- Knowledge of the communications matrix used within the Government communications service
- High level writing and editing skills with an understanding of different types of content that can be used for different purposes
- You to have extensive and demonstrable experience in delivering and measuring efficacy of communications activity
- The ability to be able to grasp a variety of fast moving, often nuanced and complex policies quickly and effectively
- Experience managing risks and issues in relation to communications, inconsistencies and assessing reputational impact of content
- You to cope comfortably with ambiguity and thrive on being creative and innovative
- Experience of working with external agencies to deliver Involvement of managing a wide range of stakeholders and their competing priorities
Desirable:
- Experience of marketing, particularly brand management and development
- Knowledge of the communications matrix used within the Government communications service
