Description & Requirements

On behalf of Homes England, we are looking for a Senior Surveyor ( Regeneration) Inside IR35 for a 6 month contract based in London or Leeds - Hybrid working.

As a Senior Surveyor your main responsibilities will be:

  • Working with colleagues across other directorates in Homes England to provide feedback on expected appropriateness for funding of pipeline projects


  • Procure technical due diligence with a view to obtaining funding approval, taking the lead on projects seeking grant funding and managing risk appropriately


  • Instructing and managing the input of panel consultants appointed to support technical work on infrastructure grant projects


  • Once approval is achieved, instructing solicitors and contracting Grant Funding Agreements (GFAs) to a high standard


  • Working with the Post-Contract teams to ensure due consideration is given to post-contractual arrangements, including monitoring and timely payment of grant claims


  • Contribute to meetings with Local Authorities, other Government Departments and other agreed stakeholders in relation to issues and mitigations around project delivery


  • Providing commercial advice and support to Homes England colleagues on infrastructure issues


  • Delivering individual targets and working to support the delivery of the team’s annual project delivery targets


  • Reviewing the work of Managers, supporting the drafting of papers prior to presentation for grant investment decision as necessary



Essential:

  •  Knowledge of UK development / regeneration / housing markets


  • Understanding of grant-based public sector programmes


  • Experience of managing funding agreements and funding conditions


  • Communication and stakeholder management
