On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Senior Project Manager Inside IR35) for a 5 months contract based REMOTELY with occasional travel in London
The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government’s ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.
As a Senior Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Lead and manage large-scale, highly complex, and often contentious programmes and projects, overseeing the project team on a day-to-day basis:
- Be responsible for driving and ensuring the successful delivery of projects, with clearly defined objectives achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality constraints. You will report to a Project Director who holds responsibility across a broad portfolio of projects and programmes
- Play a key role in project governance and stakeholder engagement, working closely with partners to ensure that agreed project outputs are delivered, and benefits are realised
Essential:
- Proven track record in leading complex, high-impact projects within political, legislative, or policy-driven environments, navigating contentious issues effectively in public sector
- Proven leadership in managing teams and driving successful delivery across programmes and portfolios.
- Expert in project delivery methodologies, with strong financial and commercial acumen, including budget and contract management.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, influencing senior leaders and sponsors across organizational boundaries.
- Experienced in government processes, including business case development, approvals, governance reviews, and supplier management.
Desirable:
- Experience in working for MOJ
