Description & Requirements

On behalf of The Department for Education, we are looking for a Lead Product Manager, Inside IR35 for a 6 month contract based in London, Manchester, Sheffield or Bristol - 2 days a week in the office. 


The Funding Service is the whole end-to-end system for delivering education funding to providers. This year, the service will play a role in delivering £76bn to 25,000 providers across the education and skills sectors.


As a Lead Product Manager your main responsibilities will be:

  • Create a Service roadmap detailing how we will deliver on the 3-year strategy
  • Support the 3 senior PM’s to create product roadmaps and value propositions
  • Help create and embed a process for reviewing and prioritizing work
  • Help create a mechanism for continually assessing value#



Essential:

  • Expertise and leadership - you will be an expert in the field of product management which you will use to bring people with you
  • Agile working: you have deep knowledge and experience of how to apply agile methodologies to deliver impactful outcomes, iterating and improving process
  • Life cycle perspective – you have successfully lead teams through the full product lifecycle. You identify which tools and techniques should be used; identify and deal with potential risks across all phases of the lifecycle
  • User focus – You are experienced in meeting the needs of users across a variety of channels. You can bring insight and expertise in how user needs have changed over time to ensure these are met by the business
