Description & Requirements

On behalf of NS&I we are looking for a HR Officer (Inside IR35) for a contract up to March 2026 on a hybrid basis (2 days per week from London)

 

Recruitment Administration

  • Support recruitment campaigns by liaising with line managers to confirm timelines and administrative needs
  • Coordinate interview arrangements, candidate communication, and ensure timely updates on the Civil Service Jobs Platform (Oleeo)

Onboarding Support

  • Process pre-employment checks, including references and right-to-work documentation
  • Prepare and issue offer letters and employment contracts
  • Accurately input new starter details into the HR and finance systems
  • Support the induction process and ensure managers are prepared to welcome new joiners

HR Administration & Records Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records (digital and paper), ensuring compliance with GDPR
  • Process standard HR tasks such as changes to contracts, probation tracking, leaver administration, and security clearances
  • Provide administrative support in managing pension-related queries (with guidance where needed)
  • Monitor the HR inbox, responding to basic queries or escalating where appropriate

Employee Relations & General Support

  • Provide note-taking support during formal meetings
  • Assist with early-stage employee relations matters and queries
  • Support wider HR projects and initiatives as needed

 

Skills and Experience Required

  • Familiarity with the Civil Service Jobs Platform (Oleeo) is essential
  • Experience working in a busy HR environment, ideally in the public sector
  • Good understanding of recruitment administration and HR processes
  • Comfortable using HR systems and Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage administrative tasks and meet deadlines
  • Clear and professional communicator with strong attention to detail
  • Discreet and responsible when handling sensitive or confidential information
  • Ability to translate and interpret policies and procedures, providing appropriate guidance and assistance when required 

 

Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
