Description & Requirements


On behalf of UKRI, we are looking for a Data Modeller (Inside IR35) for a 6 Months contract based Hybrid/ in Swindon/London.

As a Data Modeller, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and business users to gather and document business requirements for data warehouse projects.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with data warehouse architecture and design principles, in particular Kimball DWH methodology. 
  • Conduct thorough data analysis to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues in existing data sources. Design and develop dimensional data models within the enterprise data warehouse project, ensuring optimal performance, data integrity, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain data mappings, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation. Work closely with enterprise architects, developers, testers, and database administrators to implement designed data warehouse solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices. 
  • Perform data profiling and mapping to guide data integration and migration activities. Support user acceptance testing and provide support during the implementation and deployment of data warehouse solutions.


Essential:

  • Experience designing physical data models in enterprise data warehouse solutions. 
  • Experienced Data Modeller using modelling tooling.
  • Strong understanding of database design using Kimball methodologies and proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience with data querying and visualisation tooling including Talend Data Studio and Tableau.
  • Strong problem solving skills & Familiarity with Agile methodologies.


Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
