On behalf of DFTO, we are looking for a Senior Data Architect for a 6 Months contract based Hybrid/ in LONDON.

As a Senior Data Architect, your main responsibilities will be:
- Develop and implement data architecture strategies aligned with rail business objectives and technology roadmaps.
- Design and maintain data models, architecture blueprints, and standards for rail operations, asset management, and customer experience.
- Oversee the implementation of data warehouses, lakes, and cloud-based platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure) tailored to rail data needs.
- Architect integration solutions, ETL/ELT pipelines, and real-time streaming for operational and passenger data.
- Establish data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with rail industry regulations.
- Lead cross-functional teams (data engineers, analysts, business stakeholders) to deliver innovative rail data solutions.
- Optimize data architecture for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness in a rail context.
- Drive adoption of emerging data technologies relevant to rail (IoT, predictive analytics, real-time monitoring).
Essential:
- Advanced SQL and experience with multiple database technologies (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, NoSQL).
- Proficiency in data modeling tools and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and BI solutions.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman), API/microservices, and ETL/ELT tools.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, rail-specific standards).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience managing large-scale data transformation in complex environments.
