Description & Requirements


On behalf of FCDO, we are looking for a Commercial Practitioner (Inside IR35) for a 6 month hybrid contract based out of King Charles St, London or East Kilbride.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance. 


As a Commercial Practitioner , your main responsibilities will be:


  • Deliver end-to-end procurement activity.
  • Support programme teams with commercial advice and guidance.
  • Develop Statements of Requirement, KPIs and evaluation criteria.
  • Lead supplier evaluations and moderation activities.
  • Manage contract amendments, extensions and variations.
  • Navigate governance and approval processes with confidence.
  • Work collaboratively across a matrix environment.
  • Support wider commercial and programme delivery priorities as needed.


Essential:


  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end procurements.
  • Strong commercial practitioner with a delivery-focused approach.
  • Confident leading complex procurement activity through to contract award.
  • Experienced in contract amendments, variations and extensions.
  • Skilled at managing challenging stakeholder and supplier conversations.
  • Strong knowledge of Procurement Act 2023 (PA23) and PCR 2015.
  • Previous Government or wider public sector procurement experience.
  • Proficient in using eProcurement systems (e.g. Jaggaer).
  • Able to work independently and drive procurement outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

  • MCIPS Qualified
