AMS PSR

On behalf of FCDO, we are looking for a Technical Support Specialist (Outside IR35) for a 9 month hybrid contract based in London.

As a Technical Support Specialist, your main responsibilities will be:

• To provide technical review and challenge supply chain Procurement Reports submitted as part of the GMP.
• To monitor and report on operational delivery by contractors and suppliers across all GMP activities including review of any draft change requests prior to submission of that request.
• As directed by the Head of the GMP, oversee a regular planned and ad-hoc works audit programme to ensure that work is undertaken in line with the specified service level, standards and price and is fully compliant with all statutory and other obligations. As a minimum, the TSS will attend monthly regional board meetings.
• From a technical perspective, regularly review the forward maintenance registers (plans) prior to launching the Annual Programme of Works (APW) including review of correct allocation of priority and funding. 
• Ensuring full reporting and performance cycles are met by the supply chains, including, where appropriate, attending individual progress and update meetings, reviewing Service Level Agreement (SLA) KPI’s, risk and issues logs, budget forecasting and actual expenditure via budget allocations, technical adherence and reporting.
• To be aware of any changes or proposed changes to project delivery of GMP project and advise the GMP Manager and PM’s on potential cause and effect of proposed changes and changes to risk and delivery profiles. Where possible, present alternative solutions to those presented by the contractors directly.

Essential:

• Experience of establishing successful working relationships in complex stakeholder environments.
• A proven track record of working with delivery partners (professional advisers, contractors, etc).
• Ability to think and act strategically and balance numerous competing issues and objectives to a successful resolution.
• Strong technical expertise and knowledge of either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with contractors inside and outside of the UK.
• DV Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks.  Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
