On behalf of FCDO, we are looking for X3 Commercial Officers (Inside IR35) for a 12 month hybrid contract based out of King Charles St, London or East Kilbride.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
As a Commercial Officer, your main responsibilities will be:
- Provide flexible commercial support across multiple delivery teams
- Lead and support end-to-end procurements for professional services, including live tenders and contract variations.
- Deliver compliant procurement activity under PCR 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
- Develop sourcing strategies and present clear commercial recommendations to programme teams.
- Analyse spend, market, and contract data to inform decision-making.
- Support programmes with an international finance or overseas development focus, working across global time zones (e.g. Africa and Asia).
Essential:
- Strong commercial and procurement experience with end-to-end lifecycle knowledge.
- Solid understanding of public procurement regulations and contract law.
- Confident in presenting commercial decisions, producing high-quality paperwork, and advising stakeholders.
- Strong data, market insight, and analytical skills to support value-for-money decisions.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix team and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Experience managing governance, risk, and ethical standards in procurement.
- Public sector is an essential requirement for this opportunity.
Desirable:
- Experience in international finance or overseas development programmes (e.g. FCDO-style environments).
