Description & Requirements

On behalf of Defra, we are looking for a NI Pet Travel Scheme Contract Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 Month Contract.

PART TIME ROLE - 2.5 DAYS PER WEEK.

Remote or Hybrid - Office locations - Birmingham, Bristol, London, Newcastle, Reading or York.


An experienced contract manager to join Northern Ireland Pets Travel Scheme Project. The role will focus on managing a service delivery contract with an external supplier, ensuring that the key project milestones and deliverables are met, whilst closely managing and maintaining a strong collaborative relationship with the supplier. Working closely with the project team to support their work and act as an interface between the project team and the supplier.


As a NI Pet Travel Scheme Contract Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage the contractual relationship with the supplier.
  • Support the project management, planning, and monitoring all elements of contract delivery.
  • Ensure milestones are met and monitor the contract through close and regular liaison with the supplier including formal quarterly and annual review of supplier performance.
  • Establish mechanisms for capturing and reviewing Management Information, to include Suppliers service performance; KPIs, Milestones and Service Credits Providing timely feedback on supplier performance issues and successes to the project leads.
  • Working with the supplier to remediate any performance issues.
  • Actively engage with supplier to foster a partnership aimed at continuously enhancing the customer experience.
  • Utilise feedback gathered from various channels to identify areas for improvements and implement actionable strategies.
  • Communicate closely with project management leads within the project to identify and manage any potential contractual risks and issues.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of contract management and delivery to inform the planning of future contracts and management requirements.
  • Manage contractual Change Control processes within the project, developing cases for changes required and seeking Project & Programme approval.
  • Ensure effective liaison with Finance colleagues to ensure payments are made to the supplier in line with the contract and agreed Budget and that appropriated incentive mechanisms are in place and well managed.
  • Manage issues through to satisfactory resolution through negotiation, problem solving, escalation as required.
  • Period review of suppliers Exit Plan to ensure fitness for purpose as contract evolves. Review suppliers Business Continuity Plan and Delegated Responsibility Provisions as appropriate.


Essential:

  • A proven track-record of managing service delivery contracts, including monitoring supplier performance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and building strong interpersonal relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A strong attention to detail that can be used to identify risks and issues / compliance throughout the commercial lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent relationship management skills both internal and external.
