On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Senior User Researcher (Inside IR35) for a 4 month contract based Hybrid in any UK MoJ Office.
The team and project
You’ll be join the Cloud Optimisation and Accountability Team. Their OKRs for the year focus on reducing cloud costs and carbon impact of cloud services across the organisation. The team includes a Senior PM, a Delivery Manager and DevOps engineers, but they do not currently have user research capability.
Your role is to bring the user lens. You’ll help the team understand how people across MOJ use cloud services, how decisions are made and what behaviours need to change to meet the department's new objectives.
As a Senior User Researcher your main responsibilities will be:
- Leading end to end user research for a technically focused programme
- Planning and running qualitative research with engineers, architects, product teams and other internal users
- Mapping behaviours, motivations, habits and blockers around cloud usage
- Turning insight into clear actions that help reduce cost and carbon impact
- Giving evidence based recommendations to influence decisions and OKRs
- Working with the Senior PM and Delivery Manager to shape strategy
- Presenting findings to stakeholders across digital and technology teams
Essential:
- Strong experience as a Senior User Researcher
- Comfortable researching technical users such as DevOps teams or engineers
- Able to work independently, define research approaches and bring clarity
- Skilled at managing stakeholders in complex organisations
- Strong analysis and evidence based storytelling
- Experience in behaviour change or adoption research is a bonus
- Any experience in cloud, FinOps or DevOps environments is helpful (not essential)
