On behalf of FCDO, we are looking for an Estates Project Director Inside IR35 for a 12 months  contract based hybrid in one of the 3 London / Glasgow / Milton Keynes as required

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks.  Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

 

As a Estates Project Director, your main responsibilities will be to:


  • Master planning and space planning across the UK Estate
  • Delivering building projects, from design, procurement, construction through to handover;
  • Ensure that each of our projects delivers the identified benefits within the required timescales, cost and quantity parameters, and that there is an ongoing focus on value for money;
  • Act as the ‘intelligent client’ on behalf of the FCDO, you will be the primary point of contact for the key stakeholders, professional services teams and contractors
  • Effectively planning the delivery of the projects so that all parties fully understand their contributions and the timetable for delivery and monitoring delivery against the agreed plan


Essential:

  • A proven track record of successfully delivering infrastructure projects through all stages of the project life cycle (feasibility, design, procurement, construction and handover
  • A proven track record of successfully delivering estate master planning and space planning
  • Experience of establishing successful working relationships in complex stakeholder environments
  • Ability to assess risk but also to respond quickly, decisively and appropriately in relation to change; and a proactive approach and a focus on continuous improvement.


Desirable:

  • A relevant professional or technical qualification to degree level or equivalent (e.g. building surveyor, building services engineering, facilities manager); and membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, Institution of Engineering and Technology, Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management).
