Description & Requirements

On behalf of FCDO, we are looking for a Contracts Manager Inside IR35 for a contract until 31st March 2026 based Hybrid working (3 days per week in London office and remaining WFH)

Role purpose:

In this role, working 5-days a week, you will draw on your commercial expertise to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the current security guarding contract for FCDO headquarters buildings in London and East Kilbride, a site in Northamptonshire, and at 4 other locations across London and the southeast of England. You will manage the delivery and performance of the contract to ensure performance meets service specifications for quality and cost. You will provide advice on any contract changes and lead on risk management related to the contract. You will lead work toward the retendering FCDO Security contract in 2026.


The main duties and responsibilities of the Contracts Manager would be to:

  • Establish a strong working relationship with FCDO home security specialists to inform and ensure delivery by contractors of a service that fully meets contract specifications to provide effective and efficient protection for staff, information, assets, buildings and key infrastructure at FCDO sites.
  • Monitor and challenge the service provider’s performance levels against agreed Key Performance Indicators to ensure that they meet and maintain contractual standards and advise on options to address any underperformance.
  • Provide contract governance, ensuring legal compliance by both parties, including with financial, and Health & Safety obligations and effective risk mitigation.
  • Perform monthly reporting, budgeting, analysis and forecasting. Comply with all relevant FCDO procurement, financial policies and procedures to ensure payments are made and reflect any exceptional items or refunds.
  • Support re-procurement of the security guarding contract and the shaping of the new transformational contract (current contract will come to an end in April 2027 including contract renegotiations and transition management.
  • Ensure business continuity including through any reprocurement, transition and closedown
  • Maintain quality and concurrency of systems, reporting and management information


Essential:

  • Strong “hands on” Contract Management experience
  • Full contract lifecycle experience – from drafting through to finalisation
  • Previous Business Case experience
  • Experience in managing large scale complex contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and support contract delivery—ideally with exposure to multi-supplier environments.
  • Proven experience working with senior internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Senior Managers, Directors), with the ability to build trust and influence across departments.
  • Familiarity with public sector rules, regulations, and procurement processes, including transitions between contracts and statements of work.
  • Performance Monitoring and KPI Management
  • Ability to track, document, and report on supplier KPIs and performance commitments, supporting accountability and continuous improvement.


Desirable:

  • Previous experience in the management of Security Guarding contracts
