£59,631 – £79,464 | Location: Hybrid 50/50 Our new Headquarters are in Leeds but colleagues can be based in any of our offices (Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Northstowe)

Homes England is launching the National Housing Bank, a government-backed investment platform to accelerate housing delivery across England.

The Structured Real Estate & Infrastructure Finance (SREIF) team deliver structured debt finance transactions to support complex development, infrastructure and regeneration sites including mixed use, build to rent and multi-site developments.  We frequently work alongside other funders to leverage private capital with bespoke funding solutions to complex problems.

The Origination Senior Manager role holder leads the origination and execution of complex real estate and infrastructure finance transactions within the National Housing Delivery Fund (NHDF), ensuring investments are structured to manage risk effectively and deliver strong outcomes.

The role involves collaborating with a wide range of internal and external partners to assess proposals from housing developers, master developers, landowners and investors, shaping commercially sound funding solutions that support viable projects, mitigate risk and safeguard public investment.

The opportunity

Responsibilities include:

    Lead the origination, structuring, negotiation, and execution of complex real estate and infrastructure lending transactions aligned to strategic objectives. 

    Assess funding proposals from developers, investors, landowners, and regeneration partners to ensure eligibility, viability, and commercial suitability. 

    Manage credit, delivery, and project risks by evaluating borrower strength, project feasibility, and appropriate risk mitigation strategies. 

    Negotiate financing structures, pricing, loan documentation, and approval processes while ensuring compliance with governance and risk frameworks. 

    Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, funding partners, developers, legal advisers, and external consultants. 

    Present recommendations to decision-makers, oversee transaction handovers, and support the development and of junior team members.


Candidate profile

    Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in Finance, Banking, Real Estate, or a related discipline. 

    Proven experience structuring, pricing, and negotiating real estate finance transactions, including senior and mezzanine debt facilities. 

    Strong knowledge of property finance documentation, security structures, valuation methodologies, and LMA-style legal agreements. 

    Demonstrated ability to assess project viability, identify and mitigate risks, and make sound lending decisions under tight deadlines. 

    Good understanding of the housing, regeneration, and infrastructure development sectors, including funding and delivery models. 

    Commercially astute relationship manager with strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
