On behalf of NHS Business Services Authority, we are looking for a Service Transition Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 months contract based Hybrid - 2 days in Leeds and UK travel as required.
The ESR is the workforce solution for the NHS in England and Wales incorporating HR and payroll, learning, talent management, Total Reward Statements and workforce reporting. It is supported by a supply of systems, service support and auxiliary services that enable ESR to be effectively utilised across the NHS.
The Future NHS Workforce Solution Transformation Programme is designing and delivering the implementation of the new contract, and also the design and implementation of the Future NHS Workforce Solution.
The Service Transition Manager will report to the Programme Director for the Future NHS Workforce Solution Transformation Programme and the ESR Service Director, working closely with members of the Commercial Services team.
As a Service Transition Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Lead and drive end-to-end service transition projects, ensuring seamless delivery while maintaining business continuity and stakeholder alignment.
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive transition plans, integrating new services into the business-as-usual environment and aligning with operational and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers, managing documentation, readiness assessments, and resource commitments to ensure successful service onboarding.
- Identify and mitigate transition risks, including scheduling, performance, personnel transfer (as applicable), and contractual impacts, while proactively resolving readiness gaps.
- Manage supplier relationships obligations, and transition activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-assured delivery.
- Support legal and commercial aspects of transition, which may include contract novation, licensing, and cost management, in collaboration with legal advisors and programme stakeholders.
Essential:
- Previous experience in Service Transition Manager role in Public Sector.
- Operates independently, using sound judgement to meet objectives with minimal supervision.
- Maintains focus during complex negotiations and stakeholder meetings.
- Works flexibly to meet programme deadlines and priorities.
- Ensures compliance with legislation and policies (e.g. TUPE, Public Contracts Regulations, NHSBSA standards).
- Applies commercial and technical expertise to influence decision-making and drive value.
- Communicates effectively across all levels and delivers under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
