Description & Requirements


On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a PMO Design Assurance Manager (Inside IR35) on a 12 month contract which is based remotely but does Include up to 3 days a week in the nearest DWP hub not Including the London office.


The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. As such, we operate on a scale that is almost unmatched anywhere in Europe and most people in Britain come into contact with us at some point in their lives.


As a PMO Design Assurance Manager, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Coordinate across projects to ensure alignment with design guidance.
  • Ensure the integrity of DWP’s Estate portfolio, confirming new and upgraded properties meet necessary standards.
  • Engage with wider stakeholders across DWP.
  • Manage and document risks, issues, and changes as part of the project management PMO skillset
  • Ensure compliance forms are completed for every project, demonstrating adherence to design standards.


Essential Skills


  • Extensive experience across the project management office, project management delivery
  • Strong understanding of construction across a commercial portfolio
  • Background in property, interior design (commercial), architecture, or RICS QS / building surveyor.
  • Ability to engage with wider stakeholders across DWP.
  • Expertise in property and ability to chase down tasks.
  • Ability to provide design assurance and distinguish between good and poor quality.
  • Strong self starter who will also do administrative tasks including risk management and file organization.
