On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Technical Oversight Hard FM Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract which is a hybrid role so does require up to 3 days a week in the nearest DWP hub - Birmingham, Blackpool, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Sheffield offices

Lead accountability for ensuring oversight of processes and standards related to building services (Mechanical, Electrical, Fire, Asbestos, Legionella and Security). This is delivered by supporting Estates colleagues on technical, engineering and building services matters on the key asset risks such as Fire, Water, Asbestos, Gas, Electricity, Lifts and Ventilation systems.
As a Technical Oversight Hard FM Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Supporting Estates in the identification and technical advice on specifications / systems required for building services installations (Mechanical, Electrical, Fire, Asbestos, Legionella and Security). and their safety features and requirements to meet legal compliance.
- Work closely with stakeholders across Estates Design Standards, Service Delivery, Policy and Compliance and Projects Team & other internal/external stakeholders to provide review and support.
- Responsible for the oversight and management of contracts relating to Fire & Water risk assessments and Asbestos management (Carveout Suppliers).
- Provides technical support and oversight to address areas of dispute with the Supply Chain in relation to technical activities

- Provides technical support and oversight to address areas of dispute with the Supply Chain in relation to technical activities
Essential Skills
- Extensive experience across facilities management hard services with a focus on the technical element and skillset
- Working and tangible knowledge of Building Services including Fire, Water and Asbestos, to be able to understand how supply chains operate across building services.
- Detailed and extensive tangible knowledge/experience of Facilities Management Services, building asset types and their significance on legal compliance and operational impact.
- Experience in working with partner organisations and supporting effective decision making leading to improved performance.
- Influential and able to lead key senior stakeholders, colleagues and customers towards commercial solutions that give a balance of optimal performance whilst delivering on business and portfolio strategy
- Demonstrable experience of acting as technical oversight within the Facilities Management Arena
- Previous experience of developing cost-effective solutions to ensure continued compliance within the business
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in the use of CAFM systems. (Concept etc)
- Extensive experience of using data to identify trends (Power BI)
- Extensive Microsoft experience and knowledge
- An accredited Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in engineering or technology, or equivalent demonstrable experience in a similar role
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Membership of an accredited professional organisation (MIET, MIWFM IAM etc.)
