On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Senior Content Designer for a 12 month (Inside IR35) contract based Hybrid in Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle.

DWP is looking for an experienced Senior Content Designer to join a multidisciplinary digital team working on a new AI powered careers service.

This role focuses on designing content for a conversational chatbot that helps users with careers guidance, alongside content and information architecture for a new careers website.

This is a hands on senior content design role where you’ll shape how users understand, navigate and interact with complex digital services.

As a Senior Content Designer, your main responsibilities will be to:

• Design clear, accessible and user centred content for an interactive digital service, including conversational chatbot journeys and supporting web content.
• Work closely with user researchers, interaction designers, developers, product managers, business analysts, policy and legal colleagues to design and test content using evidence and insight.
• Apply GOV.UK and DWP style guides, design systems and service standards consistently across the service.
• Support content structure, navigation and user journeys for a new digital careers platform, working collaboratively with other disciplines.
• Advocate for high quality content design, confidently making the case for user needs and evidence based decisions.
• Contribute at a senior level to improving content practice, standards and ways of working within the wider team.

Essential:

• Proven experience as a Senior Content Designer working on large, complex digital services.
• Strong background in writing clear, concise content for interactive online services, not just static websites.
• Evidence based, data led approach to content design, including testing and iteration.
• Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams, alongside developers, researchers, BAs and policy stakeholders.

Desirable:

• Designing content for AI tools, chatbots or conversational interfaces.
• Experience with information architecture and site navigation.
• Familiarity with tools such as Figma and Jira.
• Previous experience working in central government or large public sector organisations.
