Description & Requirements

On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Lead Planner Inside IR35 for a 3 months contract based Hybrid in either Leeds or London 2 days per week and the rest from home in LOCATION.


The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government’s ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.

To establish a single, integrated MSP project plan by consolidating existing workstream plans and the Outline Business Case (OBC), providing a clear and reliable view of delivery, dependencies and the critical path.

This role is an investment in delivery certainty, supporting effective decision making from OBC through delivery.


As a Lead Planner  your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Deliver one integrated MSP level project plan incorporating all agreed workstream plans
  • Deliver clear visibility of: Critical path, Key interdependencies between products and workstreams
  • Deliver a shared, quality assured understanding of what drives delivery and where delivery risk genuinely sits
  • Consolidate existing workstream plans into a single MSP aligned delivery plan
  • Establish clear product sequencing and dependency logic across the programme
  • Ensure the plan clearly identifies essential inputs required for key outputs (e.g. commercial, technical or delivery decisions)


Essential:

  • Demonstrable MSP level planning experience in complex programmes
  • Strong capability in integrating multiple workstream plans into a single delivery view
  • Experience facilitating structured planning and dependency workshops
  • Ability to translate complex planning outputs into clear, decision ready insight
