On behalf of National Crime Agency, we are looking for a Test Manager Inside IR35 for a 6 month contract based remotely.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active SC clearance.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) is the UK’s lead law‑enforcement body responsible for tackling serious and organised crime that threatens national security and public safety. It works across areas such as organised crime, cybercrime, economic crime, child exploitation, drugs and firearms trafficking, and border security. Operating as a non‑ministerial government department, the NCA works closely with police forces, government departments, international partners, and the private sector to prevent, investigate, and disrupt criminal networks both in the UK and overseas.
As a Test Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
Essential:
- Own end‑to‑end testing across ERP and external systems, defining scope for HR, payroll and finance modules, mapping dependencies to procurement, recruitment and occupational health systems, and prioritising high‑risk business flows (e.g. joiners, movers, leavers, payroll and statutory reporting).
- Lead interface and integration testing, designing and controlling system integration testing (SIT) for all ERP interfaces, including SFTP file exchanges, messaging hubs, and new endpoints, with strong controls over routing, retries, error handling and reconciliation.
- Assure data integrity and regulatory accuracy, defining data contracts and validation rules, implementing reconciliation and audit reporting for payroll, BACS, HMRC and pensions, and testing edge cases such as partial failures and duplicate or out‑of‑sequence data.
- Deliver non‑functional testing for a SaaS environment, validating performance, resilience, availability and recovery against agreed SaaS‑aligned NFRs, including peak payroll volumes, overnight batch windows, and RTO/RPO targets.
- Manage environments, tooling and integration governance, mitigating environment and dependency risks, enabling synthetic test data strategies, configuring tooling for interface monitoring and traceability, and automating regression checks for data schemas and message routing.
- Assure operational readiness and cutover, leading dress rehearsals, validating cutover and rollback scenarios, preparing audit and stage‑gate evidence, and providing data‑driven go/no‑go recommendations based on defect leakage and reconciliation accuracy.
