Description & Requirements


On behalf of FCDO, we are looking for a Digital Product Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 Months contract based Hybrid/ in London/Milton Keynes.


SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance

As a Digital Product Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

  • The Product Manager is a role within the Product Management function within IDD, reporting to the Head of Digital Workplace Products
  • Part of this role will be to ensure adherence to all appropriate policies and processes and the quality of the products and services within the Applications team.
  • The Product Manager will have oversight of multiple products working with multi-disciplinary business areas and stakeholders.
  • Drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch.
  • Managing and driving forward delivery timescales and ensuring product delivery is effectively managed.
  • Managing the scope and scheduling of product delivery with an agile approach. Governance – Provide key reports and information to stakeholders to support effective governance and decision making.
  • Risks & Issues – Identify and monitor project risks and issues. Implement mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate.
  • Stakeholder Management - Lead stakeholders through Governance to build consensus across a large and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders across the supply chain.
  • Budget & Financial Planning – Manage product budget and financial planning including forecasting and product pricing evaluation.
  • Manage 3rd party suppliers relationship, including delivery of products as agreed including establishing and modifying the product roadmap as required.
  • Identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes.
  • Help teams to manage and visualise outcomes, prioritise work and adhere to agreed minimum viable product (MVP), priorities and scope.
  • Manage the delivery of products and services at different phases including to design processes for the running and maintenance of products or services throughout their product life cycle.
  • Act as the escalation point for operational issues and ensure that the right actions are taken to investigate, resolve and anticipate problems.


Essential:

  • Experience of delivering technology and organisational change projects at an enterprise level
  • Experience in Prince 2 principles and management approaches
  • Experience in requirements and process Analysis
  • Experience in Performance Management
  • Experience of working within a similar large-scale public-sector programme
  • Experience of agile delivery especially Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience of working in a Live Services environment.
  • Managing project risks and issues, adherence to quality assurance processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and ServiceNow.
  • You can successfully respond to challenges and dynamic working environment.
  • You can understand the different phases of product delivery and can contribute to, plan or run them. You can maintain a product or process through the delivery phases, into live and then into retirement. You can lead a team through the different phases of the product delivery life cycle. You can maintain and iterate a product over time to continuously meet user needs. You can understand incident management and service support to ensure that products are built effectively.
