Description & Requirements

On behalf of The Insolvency Service, we are looking for a Paralegal (InsideIR35) for a 6 month contract based hybrid (3 days a week) in either London Stratford, Manchester, Birmingham or Newcastle. 


This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with criminal and/or civil litigation experience who are able to work independently and manage a varied caseload from day one.


You will play a key role in supporting prosecution and civil litigation activities, working closely with barristers, solicitors, courts and witnesses to progress cases effectively.


As a Paralegal, your main responsibilities will be to:


  • Manage a personal caseload of prosecution and civil litigation matters.
  • Prepare, review and compile documentary evidence for legal proceedings.
  • Liaise with courts, barristers, solicitors, witnesses and other stakeholders.
  • Attend criminal courts across England and Wales when required.
  • Maintain accurate records using case management and document management systems.
  • Assist with the preparation of legal bundles, correspondence and court documentation.
  • Ensure cases are progressed efficiently and in line with agreed timescales.
  • Support wider legal team activities and contribute to key project milestones.
  • Work collaboratively within a team of Paralegals while maintaining responsibility for your own workload.



Essential:


  • Significant Paralegal experience within a legal environment.
  • Strong organisational and case management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence liaising with legal professionals, courts and external stakeholders.


Desirable:


  • Experience using legal case management or document management systems.


Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
