On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Learner Research and Testing Analyst - (Inside IR35) for a 6-MONTH contract working on a flexible hybrid basis and with an expectation of attendance in a local MOJ office
The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government’s ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.
This role will sit in the new Learning Design Faculty, within the Probation Workforce Programme, as part of the Learner Research and Testing team.
The purpose of this role is to support an evidence-based, learner-centred design approach, providing advice, guidance, tools and techniques that can be practically applied to learner research.
The post-holder will report to the Learner Research, Design and Development Lead.
Working within a matrix structure, the post holder will work closely with the Design and Development team, the L&D Improvement team and the L&D Product Owners; working in collaboration to ensure evaluation feedback and proposed improvements are incorporated into future iterations of the learning content.
The role holder will be responsible for collation and analysis of qualitative and quantitative learner research data, using this analysis to develop insights to inform the learning outcomes.
They will summarise learning research outputs, identify themes and prepare written reports to make recommendations on how to apply learner insights into the wider programme.
This role is non-operational and has no formal line-management responsibility.
This role is HQ based and will require occasional travel to other HMPPS sites/regions
As a Learner Research and Testing Analyst - (Inside IR35), your main responsibilities will be:
- Provide advice, guidance, tools and techniques that can be practically applied to learner research.
- Collate and analyse qualitative and quantitative learner research data and insights to inform the learning outcomes.
- Summarise learning research outputs, identify themes and prepare written reports to make recommendations on how to apply learner insights into the wider programme (both learning content and approach).
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external teams / stakeholders to gather the latest academic thinking and evidence-based practice to inform learning design.
- Identify and engage with a diverse representative group of learners, organising and facilitating focus groups or surveys as appropriate to gather the required data and insights to inform the learning outcomes.
- Work with the Design and Development team to ensure the definition of performance outcomes accurately reflect the practice standards, evidence-based practice research and learner research.
- Identify learner research and insights that can be used to inform recommendations to continuously improve L&D across the NPS.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels across the programme and organisation in the design and delivery of evidence-based, learner-centred learning resources and experiences.
- Be a strong advocate for learning, taking responsibility for own continuous professional development.
- Attend programme meetings/Boards on behalf of the Learner Research, Design and Development Lead as required.
