AMS PSR

On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Lead Agile Coach (Inside IR35) for a 6 Month contract based Hybrid in any central MOJ Hub.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government’s ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.

As a Lead Agile Coach, your main responsibilities will be:

• Lead enterprise-wide Agile transformation initiatives across multiple teams, departments, and business units.
• Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, leadership teams, and delivery squads on Agile principles, frameworks, and best practices.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, strategic planning sessions, retrospectives, and continuous improvement workshops to drive team effectiveness.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to align Agile delivery practices with organizational goals, business priorities, and customer outcomes.
• Develop and implement Agile governance, metrics, and delivery standards to improve team performance, predictability, and value delivery.
• Mentor and influence teams to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.

Essential:

• Extensive experience in applying agile principles, practices, and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and a good understanding of modern product disciplines such as continuous discovery, dual-track delivery and user-centred design.
• Experience agile coaching at a senior or executive level within digital, data or technology environments.
• Strong ability to use data, insight and structured analysis to inform prioritisation, decision-making and measurement of value.
• Proven experience in coaching individuals and teams to improve service delivery.
• Ability to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders, and lead change in a complex environment
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and stakeholders, challenge constructively and shift entrenched organisational behaviours.

Desirable:

• Previous public sector experience
