On behalf of Defra, we are looking for a Business Analyst (Inside IR35) for a 3 month contract based in any DEFRA location (hybrid).

As a Business Analyst, your main responsibilities will be:

Assess how each arm’s‑length body (ALB) would use project billing because their funding models, income streams, operational processes and use of project structures differ significantly. A BA can carry out the detailed discovery work needed to map current practices, identify where billing is appropriate or inefficient, and determine the data, charging mechanisms and approvals each ALB requires. This analysis is essential to inform Local Design and ensure that billing is designed in a way that works for Core and all ALBs, supports accurate income recognition, and aligns with statutory reporting needs.

Essential:

• Proven Business Analyst with a background in Finance
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work at pace and deliver projects within a short timeframe
