On behalf of Department for Education, we are looking for an HR Business Partner - (Inside IR35) for a 5 month contract working on a hybrid basis and with an expectation of 3 days per week in your closest office – London / Coventry / Darlington / Manchester / Sheffield. Remote working may be considered dependent upon your location and circumstances
HR BPs undertake their work through bringing people-related expertise to an understanding of the organisation, its strategy and customers, and the people challenges it faces.
Your role:
- Strategic Partnering
- Through strong working relationships with DGs and their SLTs, drive people strategies and practices that support shared goals and the objectives of the Department.
- Guide senior leaders through best practice end-to-end change management, supporting them to identify and mitigate risks, and understand the people impacts.
- Support the development of senior leadership capability in people matters.
Solving
As a member of the Group’s senior leadership team, bring insight together with data, HR expertise, policy and practice.
Operate with curiosity to identify trends, inform decision making, solve problems, and develop effective people solutions, organisation strategy and strategic workforce plans, while minimising risks.
Connecting
Facilitate connections between the organisation and appropriate HR expertise, supporting implementation of the HR Service Model
Input business views to inform development of HR policies and strategies and enable two-way feedback on HR services, to improve outcomes within the agreed service model.
As an HR Business Partner - (Inside IR35), your main responsibilities will be:
- Credible HR Professional: Substantial experience partnering with senior leaders to deliver people strategy.
- Relationship Building: Excellent stakeholder management skills, understanding internal and external conditions affecting culture, delivery, and performance.
- Data Advocacy: Identifying trends, using metrics to drive initiatives, and improving work processes.
- Organizational Skills: Handling multiple priorities, leading programs, and seeing the bigger picture.
- Coaching and Support: Using coaching techniques with senior leaders to improve team capability and capacity, and ensuring leaders understand employee engagement drivers.
- Strategic Development: Supporting the organization in workforce planning, organizational design, resourcing, talent management, and leadership development.
Essential:
- Strategic Partnering and HR Experience: Substantial experience in HR, delivering in a Civil Service Business Partner role, and supporting the organisation to develop people strategies.
- Collaborative and Communication Skills: Successfully building impactful relationships with senior stakeholders, demonstrating communication skills to challenge assumptions and influence direction.
- Organisational and Analytical Expertise: Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, problem-solving through coaching and workforce data analysis, and working collaboratively across HR teams to connect activities.
Desirable:
- Hold CIPD Level 5 Intermediate / Level 7 Advanced Diploma in HRM or equivalent experience
- Public Sector experience
- Organisation Design and Development experience
