On behalf of the CPS, we are looking for a HR Advisor (Inside IR35) for a 4 month hybrid contract based in London, Birmingham, York or Wakefield.
The CPS prosecutes criminal cases that have been investigated by the police and other investigative organisations in England and Wales. The CPS is independent, and they make their decisions independently of the police and government.
Their duty is to make sure that the right person is prosecuted for the right offence, and to bring offenders to justice wherever possible.

As a HR Advisor, your main responsibilities will be:
Advise managers on HR issues, including performance, attendance, conduct, health, and well-being.
- Manage complex HR cases, prepare documentation for meetings and tribunals, and liaise with the HR Directorate on casework.
- Lead and coordinate recruitment campaigns, including business cases and selection panels.
- Deliver training and guidance on HR policies, tools, and organizational change; identify learning needs and design solutions.
- Mentor colleagues and share best practices across HR and the wider business.
- Build strong relationships with managers, employees, and Trade Union representatives.
- Provide accurate HR advice to the Area Strategic Board during change initiatives.
- Analyse HR data to identify trends, recommend actions, and escalate issues as needed.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies through audits and reviews; promote good practice.
- Deliver a customer-focused HR service across all functions.
Essential:
- Associate CIPD Level 5
- Policy Expertise – Ability to interpret and apply HR and organizational policies effectively.
- Grievance Handling – Skilled in managing employee grievances with fairness and compliance.
- Stakeholder Management – Strong capability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Clear Communication – Communicates complex information in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
- Decision-Making – Demonstrates sound judgment and timely decision-making in challenging situations.
- Complex Case Management – Experienced in handling sensitive and complex HR casework.
- Data & Information Accuracy – Proficient in uploading accurate information into systems and forms.
- Documentation & Compliance – Highly organized with strong attention to detail in preparing paperwork for formal processes and tribunals.
- People Skills – Builds trust, engages effectively, and supports colleagues across all levels.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Civil Service frameworks and commitment to maintaining integrity and compliance is highly desirable
- Experience of using oracle
