On behalf of The Home Office, we are looking for a Director Of People and Change - (Inside IR35) for a 12 -Months contract working on a hybrid basis and with an expectation of 2 days per week in one of the following office sites: London (Canary Wharf), Cardiff, Croydon, Sale, Birmingham or Wakefield

These are difficult areas that can rapidly change in the global environment we work in – this makes us one of the most exciting and stimulating government departments in which to work.
The Home Office is undertaking a major programme of transformation, enabled by new IT systems and in support of an ambitious five-year strategy. This, in the context of rising demand and complexity of operational work and a challenging financial climate, means the Home Office must deliver more with fewer resources.
Our Director, People will be confident supporting change and will ensure that the Home Office maintains and enhances employee satisfaction during a challenging period.
The Director, People will focus on modernising the Home Office by continuing to build strategic people related capability within the team, whilst supporting the delivery of significant cultural change aimed at making the Home Office an employer of choice.

As a Director Of People and Change - (Inside IR35), your main responsibilities will be:
- Develop and coordinate tools for successful HR and people management activities.
- Manage a broad, strategic People function, and lead people change, particularly restructuring.
- Implement an employment proposition to attract and retain talent, enhancing organizational performance.
- Develop and maintain People policies, processes, and procedures in line with external rules and guidelines.
- Lead the development and implementation of the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion strategy, and embed cultural competence and inclusion.
- Enhance HR function maturity, focusing on learning and talent, workforce planning, reward, performance management, HR analytics, and technology.
Essential:
- Expertise in People and Change: CIPD Level 7, change and transformation experience, trade union experience, and organisation design within an ER function.
- Communication and Influence: Exceptional communication skills.
- Leadership and Management: Director level experience,line management, and stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at senior levels
Desirable:
- Public Sector experience
