Description & Requirements

We are looking for a Commercial Officer (SEO) Inside IR35 for a 6 month contract based Hybrid Working 

 

As a Commercial Officer, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Support the delivery of key procurement activities and provide commercial leadership or support for complex and strategic procurements that conform to organizational policies and assurance processes, and comply fully with relevant procurement laws and regulations.
  • Support the delivery of multi-supplier transition and exit activities, and plan the seamless onboarding and mobilization of new suppliers to deliver the next generation of services.
  • Produce and deliver Contract Management Plans and procurement plans for goods and services to support the delivery of various programs of work, working collaboratively with commercial colleagues and the relevant business units.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the technology supply markets, categories, and business context, providing options and opportunities from a commercial perspective, including developing requirements, options analysis for routes to market, risks, benefits, and social value.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to develop a clear and agreed view on the needs of the business and target outcomes.
  • Work with associated commercial specialists to develop strategic category or business-focused plans to address key commercial challenges, such as building commercial capability of contract managers or looking for synergies across the commercial portfolio that will deliver greater benefits or efficiencies.
  • Ensure that commercial risks are identified, understood, recorded, and managed at all stages of the procurement, and that ongoing risks are transferred seamlessly into contract management.

 

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and supporting procurement activities, including the development and delivery of procurement and contract management plans.
  • In-depth understanding of relevant procurement laws and regulations, ensuring compliance throughout the procurement process.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on business needs and outcomes.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and manage risks.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that address key commercial challenges and deliver efficiencies.
  • Experience in managing complex projects, including multi-supplier transitions and onboarding of new suppliers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to commercial challenges.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with commercial colleagues and other business units to achieve common goals.
