Description & Requirements


We are currently creating a pipeline for upcoming opportunities for X2 Commercial Leads (Inside IR35) for a 6 month hybrid contract based from London, Bristol, Newport or Birmingham


As a Commercial Lead, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Lead Strategic and Governance Activities

Drive the development of the framework strategy and oversee governance processes, ensuring compliance with internal gateways and the Procurement Act 2023.


  • Own Business Case Development

Draft and finalize the Outline and Final Business Cases , transforming strategy into board-approved documents that enable a clear route to market.


  • Manage Stakeholders and Market Engagement

Act as the central liaison for internal/external stakeholders, co-lead workshops, and support preliminary market engagement to validate the commercial approach.


  • Strategic Alignment & Solution Mapping

Analyze forward-looking pipeline notices to align with agreements with upcoming high-value requirements and map complex customer needs.


  • Customer-Centric Improvement & Advocacy

Act as the feedback loop for key clients , refining schedules and digital processes while promoting the benefits of Open Transport Tech agreements and routes to market.


  • Relationship & Supplier Engagement

Support strategic relationship management by facilitating supplier partnering, product awareness sessions, and ensuring supply chain capability aligns with commercial playbooks.


Essential:


  • Commercial Procurement Expertise: Strong knowledge of the commercial side of procurement, supply chain management, and strategic sourcing processes.


  • Governance & Project Control: Familiarity with RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), time scales, and governance frameworks to ensure project viability and compliance.


  • Technology & Sector Experience: Proven experience working within transport technology or related sectors, ideally in large organizations.


  • Framework & Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of framework development, improvements, and compliance with Procurement Act 2023 (PA23)


  • Customer Engagement & Relationship Management: Ability to work collaboratively with customers, manage stakeholder relationships, and support supply chain development for future procurement cycles.
