On behalf of our client we are looking for a Commercial Lead for Cloud - (Inside IR35) for a 6 - month contract working on a hybrid basis and with an expectation of 2 days attendance in one of the Norwich, London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Newport offices.
The Commercial Lead is a hands-on delivery role driving the development of commercial agreements for public cloud services for Government and the wider public sector.
Working within a cross-functional team that includes commercial, technical, and business experts, this role requires the successful candidate to apply their national or global expertise in public cloud procurement. The primary goal is to help develop and shape future public cloud commercial services and solutions for the entire public sector based on technical and business requirements from our customers (buyers).
As a Commercial Lead for Cloud - (Inside IR35) your main responsibilities will be:
- Development of commercial engagement and negotiation strategies relating to hyperscale cloud providers
- Understanding of hyperscale cloud commercial constructs and best in class models delivering significant business value.
- Able to contribute and lead conversations at executive level relating to cloud
- Input to Green Book business cases model
- Prepare commercial assurance documentation for governance boards.
Essential:
- Demonstrable experience in commercial procurement of public cloud, ideally within government or regulated sectors e.g. banking, insurance
- Strong analytical skills, including financial modelling and cost-benefit analysis.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholder
- A solid understanding of sourcing strategies and category management with a commercial mindset
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify and develop effective solutions to drive category performance
Desirable:
- Familiarity with public sector procurement regulations and playbooks, but private sector knowledge highly desirable.
- Familiarity with savings methodologies
- CIPS Level 4 or above.
- Experience supporting strategic supplier relationship meetings or similar governance forums.
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing and category management.
