Description & Requirements

On behalf of the National Crime Agency, we are looking for X9 Business Analysts (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. This is a hybrid working role (two days per month office based - London, Warrington, Bristol, Newcastle or Birmingham).


Job Purpose:


The Business Analyst (BA) acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that business needs are understood, documented, and translated into effective solutions. The BA will analyze processes, gather requirements, and support the delivery of projects that align with organizational goals.


SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance. 


As a Business Analyst, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Requirements Gathering: Work with stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business requirements.
  • Process Analysis: Analyze current business processes, identify gaps, and propose improvements.
  • Documentation: Create detailed business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and user stories.
  • Stakeholder Management: Facilitate communication between business units, IT teams, and external vendors.
  • Data Analysis: Interpret data to support decision-making and provide actionable insights.
  • Testing & Validation: Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Change Management: Assist in implementing new processes and systems, including training and support.



Essential:


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Proficiency in tools such as MS Excel, Visio, and requirements management software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related field.
  • Knowledge of business process modeling and data analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
