Description & Requirements


On behalf of the Cabinet Office, we are looking for a Assistant Finance Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 month hybrid contract based in London

The Cabinet Office is also the corporate headquarters for the government, in partnership with HM Treasury, and takes the lead in certain critical policy areas. As a Assistant Finance Manager, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Financial Control Support: Assist the Financial Control Manager with day-to-day activities and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial data.
  • Audit Support: Prepare documentation and provide assistance during internal and external audits.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee incoming payments, monitor outstanding balances, and ensure timely collections.
  • Debt Ledger Oversight: Manage elements of the debt ledger, ensuring accuracy and proper reporting.


Essential:


  • Technical Know-How: You’re confident with the tools and processes needed to get the job done.
  • Great Communicator: Able to explain things clearly and build strong working relationships.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Comfortable handling reactive situations and adapting quickly when priorities change
  • Finance Background: Solid understanding of financial principles and experience working in a finance environment.
  • CTC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.



Desirable:


  • Oracle/Workday experience
