Description & Requirements

On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Senior User Researcher (Inside IR35) for a 3-6 Month hybrid contract based 2 days per week in any MoJ office.

We require a User Researcher to join a content team which will consist of two Content Designers and two User Researchers

The Opportunity

Justice information has enormous value, but it can currently be difficult to navigate and varies in quality and consistency. This leads to unnecessary demand, user uncertainty, and added pressure on operations. It also limits the effectiveness of AI tools, which rely on clear, well structured content to provide accurate and reliable responses.

Improving how this information is managed and presented will unlock better user experiences, reduce friction, and enable more dependable digital and AI-driven services.

As a user researcher you will

  • Understand how users find and use justice information
  • Map pain points across journeys and channels
  • Influence the creation of patterns, guidance and processes
  • Support future scaling and reuse.
  • Experience testing Gov.uk content
  • Experience working closely with content designers
  • Experience working with Policy teams
  • Experience influencing stakeholders to see the bigger picture
  • Experience producing journey maps and surfacing painpoints
  • Helping policy to identify what priorities are worth focussing on improving

Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
