On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Casework Team Leader x 9 (Inside IR35) until 30th March 2026 contract based Hybrid - London.

As a Casework Team Leader, your main responsibilities will be:
- Lead a Casework Team, with task management responsibility for HEO Civil Servants and task management of contingent workforce recruits.
- Make autonomous and sound decisions in accordance with relevant Government Policy.
- Where appropriate, seek guidance from colleagues, Senior members of staff, SMEs and technical specialists.
- Ensure sensitive and personal information is handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2015.
- Dealing promptly with queries in a sensitive and respectful manner, identifying if translation or interpretation is required to better aid the applicant.
- Carefully analyse evidence provided and requesting further information from various stakeholders (including applicants) where necessary.
- Provide advice, guidance and support to Casework, DARR, MOD and cross-HMG stakeholders, cultivating positive working relationships a variety of stakeholders to support and drive forward DARR priorities.
- Oversee the recording and utilisation of casework data for various uses, including generating management information, providing statistics for internal and external reporting and in order to contribute to discussions on decision rates, flow rates and resource projections.
- Adhere to and ensure that others are complying with DARR governance protocols.
- Deputise for the relevant Assistant Head when required.
- Support with the training and development of HEOs caseworkers
PLEASE NOTE:
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance
Essential:
- Experience of working for Government or working closely with Government in high pace operational delivery environment.
- Experience of leading/mentoring a team with focus on welfare and well being
- Experience of being confident and credible collaborator with stakeholders and other partners to support and drive forward departmental priorities
- Experience of using government policy to make sound decisions to support delivery of departmental objectives
- Evidence of rules-based casework and Operational Delivery
- Experience of working in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Experience of working in a policy-led environment
- Experience of using Microsoft Office especially Excel to intermediate level
