On behalf of DENSZ, we are looking for a Graphic Designer/Animator (Inside IR35) for a 3 Month contract based Remotely.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Central Data Office for the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) - an ambitious team playing a critical role in the drive toward Energy Security and Net-Zero, through ensuring that the department has a clear and consistent approach to how it uses data.

A core objective of the DESNZ Central Data Office this year is to develop a data capability curriculum that will support staff across the department to upskill and feel confident working with and looking after data. This curriculum will span four levels: ‘awareness’, ‘working’, ‘practitioner’ and ‘expert’ and will be made up of bite-size animations/videos, longer lecture-style recordings and e-learning modules.

The postholder will be working with a member of the Central Data Office who will act as project lead for the development of the capability curriculum, including writing/sourcing the training content. The postholder’s role will be to bring this content to life by adding professional and engaging visual elements that are consistent with the DESNZ and Central Data Office brand.

As a Graphic Designer/Animator, your main responsibilities will be:

• Design compelling animated videos that explain complex topics as part of Data Capability Curriculum, using scripts provided by the Central Data Office Project Lead
• Stitch together video clips, audio clips and animations to produce professional end-products
• Design static images for use in presentation decks and e-learning modules
• Work in a timely manner to deliver on the brief over a three-month period, meeting individual milestones throughout
• Be open to feedback and work collaboratively with the Central Data Office Project Lead

Essential: 

• Experience producing animated content (e.g. videos, GIFs) and static design elements (e.g. images, branded assets) with a strong portfolio of past work
• Proficiency in design software, e.g. Microsoft Designer, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to work to a brief, meeting expectations set by the client in a high-quality and timely manner
