Description & Requirements

On behalf of Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), we are looking for a Principal Policy Specialist (Inside IR35/PAYE) for a 3 months contract based in  London 2 days per week.


As a Principal Policy Specialist, your main responsibilities will be:



  • Management of the incoming business of the Interim Directors, including email inboxes and strategic oversight of their diaries, working with their Executive Assistant 
  • Identifying and prioritising actions, taking forward a range of actions on own initiative and remitting others for Interim Director input
  • Responding to urgent issues arising and advising the Directors on action needed 
  • Liaising with the SLT across Partnerships to spot emerging issues and bring them to the Interim Directors’ attention 
  • Leading on specific items of work especially those which are cross cutting for the Partnerships group, as they arise.  Involvement in other related issues in the Partnerships Group as required


Essential:


  • Experience working on policy issues, and in a fast-paced environment - preferably in the civil service  
  • Highly Organised
  • Exceptional Stakeholder engagement skills]
  • Ability to make decis9ons and take ownership where appropriate


Desirable:


  • Medical Devices or regulatory Background
