Description & Requirements

On behalf of The Ministry of Justice we are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. Hybrid working with 2-3 days per week required in London. 


The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government’s ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.


This role is based within our AppSec team focused on building security automation into delivery pipelines and conducting security focused tests against digital services



Essential:


  • An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. (Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.)
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, CREST or CHECK.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and tools.
  • Experience in threat modelling and secure by design processes.
  • Experience of cloud security architectures and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with security testing tools and methodologies (e.g., static and dynamic analysis, fuzzing, penetration testing).
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ and automation using scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PowerShell
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
