Description & Requirements

On behalf of Crown Commercial Services, we are looking for a Deputy Head of Communications (Inside IR35) Until 31/03/26 contract based Hybrid - any CCS office in a UK.

As a Deputy Head of Communications, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Drive the development and execution of CCS’s communications strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and public sector growth goals.
  • Establish processes to leverage commercial insight and data for targeted, effective, and measurable marketing and communications activities.
  • Lead internal communications initiatives to boost employee engagement, working closely with HR and business improvement leaders.
  • Build and nurture a high-performing Communications team, promoting excellence and best practices from the Government Communications Service.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders, protect CCS’s reputation, and foster stakeholder engagement through brand ambassadors and community building.
  • Oversee high-quality communications outputs, digital presence, media relations, budget management, and evaluation metrics to support CCS’s strategic goals.


Essential:


  • Expertise in developing and aligning communication strategies with business and public sector growth objectives.
  • Skilled in engaging stakeholders, building brand ambassadors, and protecting organizational reputation.
  • Ability to lead internal campaigns that drive employee engagement and support cultural transformation.
  • Proficient in using insights and analytics to target, evaluate, and improve communications effectiveness.
  • Strong leadership in building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Competence in managing digital channels, social media presence, and media relationships to expand reach and influence.


Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
