AMS PSR

On behalf of The UK Space Agency, are looking for a Senior Internal Communications Officer (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract on a hybrid basis (2-3 days per week from Cardiff, Harwell, or Edinburgh with travel to London/Swindon required as and when requested)

As a Senior Internal Communications Officer your main responsibilities will be: 

• Develop and execute an internal communications strategy, with clear objectives and a pathway to implementation.
• Manage a variety of communication channels and platforms to keep our staff informed, connected, and engaged with key Agency messages and change.
• Build strong relationships across the organisation (including senior leaders, communications colleagues, and policy teams)
• Identify and gather insight on key internal audiences to inform communications activity and improve engagement.
• Build the Agency’s internal narrative, drawing from our core vision and values. 
• Maintain and evolve a forward look to ensure communications are pro-active throughout the year, while ensuring delivery against the strategy. 
• Plan, produce and publish innovative, engaging, audience focused resources and content for use across a wide range of channels.
• Evaluate activity across our existing internal communications platforms, using this to make recommendations for future capabilities. 
• Lead on communications activities for internal events, e.g. all-staff away days.

Essential: 

• You will have the ability to ask the right questions of senior leaders to clarify the purpose and objectives of internal communications activity and advise on insight and evaluation to inform plans.
• You will have the ability to plan and think strategically, working with people from different areas of the organisation towards a single vision.
• You can communicate complex ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing, including internal briefings for senior leaders and presentations.
• You will have strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• You will have previous experience in developing and delivering internal communications strategies.
• You will have experience of developing communications objectives that link strongly to organisational priorities, and of supporting change projects. 
• You will have skills to work with a variety of communications platforms, including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Office 365, AI.
• You have digital media skills, including filming, recording, editing and producing various multimedia.
• You will be comfortable with basic IT.

Desirable: 

• Experience of Government communications
• Degree or equivalent qualification
